I have been an artist in and around the San Francisco Bay Area for some years now. I received a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. I was born and raised in Oakland, CA and have lived throughout San Francisco for some years, including in my beloved Tenderloin. I took an intentional break from painting and showing artwork in 2009 to reflect on what painting actually meant for me. I have been fortunate enough to find work as a freelance designer and director of a children's summer program as an art programs coordinator during this time so I had a stable career in the arts.

I moved to Fresno, CA in 2009 to help take care of my father and the family business. This where and when I started to develop a new body of work.

In 2008 I created a painting titled “the beginning of the end,” which depicts a Mexican child drinking a beer with a map of the city Oakland in the backdrop. It was painted from one of several photos I have found thumbing through my father’s extensive photo collection. I feel that I have seen the end I spoke of, with the end of my father, family surrounding as we laid him to rest one last time. This I feel is the start of a new beginning, but in order to move forward I felt I needed to learn the past.

In the 1970's my father took photography classes at a community college in Oakland, CA. The images he left are a real look into what he saw in life, his family, an eye for composition, and what he admired.

I have embarked on creating several paintings based on the photos my father exposed in his lifetime.

As painting has become more of a labor of love it may take me a while to build a new body of work and will update my site as frequently possible.

Currently I have been concentrating on and the loin, a screen printing company and clothing brand that I have partnered with Jeff Bruton in redeveloping.
